Sydney boy, tall -
207cm makes him 6'11" or so. big body.
Member of
Australia's U17 team. At the NSW Institute of Sports, not the Australian
Institute of Sport (so at a second tier rather than the 'big' institute).
Played OK at the
U17 Worlds - 9.5ppg which was third on the team and 5.2 rpg. He is currently
included in the U19 team as well - but there are a number of very good players
ahead of him in the rotation on what is a strong U19 Aussie squad. He has got
some court time but it has been inconsistent but not bad for one of the
youngest members of the squad.
So all indications
is a solid college player with a lot of height and probably some pretty
reasonable fundamentals. That should fit well into Butler's philosophy.

Anthony DRMIC

Anthony, a
6'6" wing who has been at the prestigious Australian Institute of Sport
since he was 15, was recruited in part because of his ability to play either
the SG/SF position. His size allows him to score from anywhere on the floor.

Daniel

Daniel is a first
year scholarship holder. He is a power forward who can also swing into the
centre position and is capable of defending out to the small forward position.
Daniel is a great athlete who is going to work on his back to the basket moves,
perimeter shooting and general ball handling skills while at the AIS. Daniel
also has the wingspan and athletic prowess to be a great defender.
Hugh GREENWOOD

Hugh is in his
fourth year on scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). Hugh has
the skills of a combination guard and is an excellent defender who takes
advantage of a long wingspan to steal passes and rip down rebounds. This year
he will be working on his versatility to give himself options of playing
various positions from the point guard, shooting guard or small forward. He
will also be developing his leadership skills using his experience at the AIS
to date, to help new players settle into life at the AIS.

HADZIOMEROVIC

Igor is in his
second year as an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. He is a
left hander combo guard who can swing between the point and shooting guard
positions. He brings great intensity to his day-to-day work and is a positive
influence on the whole group. This year he will be working to develop his
shooting technique and ball handling and also making valuable contributions to
leadership requirements in the group.

Jackson
ALDRIDGE

Strengths:
Aldridge is a
strongly built point guard with a scorer's mentality. He is outstanding in
transition where he attacks the rim fearlessly. He has deep range on his jumper
and is consistent from behind the international 3-point line. He has good ball
quickness and is able to find seems in the defense in order to get into the
paint. He also is a good passer that understands how to draw a defender and
pitch to an open teammate for a jumper or drop it off to a post for an easy
lay-up. Aldridge is a tough minded defender that will challenge his opponent
for 40 minutes.
Weaknesses:
Although Aldridge
has played against outstanding competition internationally he is still going to
need some time to adjust to the speed of the American game. He needs to improve
his decision making ability under pressure understanding when to attack and
when to slow it down.
Bottom Line:
Aldridge should be
an impact player within the Horizon League. Playing at the prestigious
Australian Institute of Sport, Aldridge became well known on the college
recruiting circuit when he was named to the All-Tournament team while leading
his national team to the gold medal at the Albert Schweitzer Games. Butler,
capitalizing on their Final Four run, cornered the market quickly and closed
the deal.

Jackson is in his
third year as a scholarship holder. Jackson is a scoring point guard who can
also swing into the shooting guard role. This year he will be working on his
leadership skills to further develop his point guard skills plus his ability to
be a consistent three point shooter and a player who can pressure the ball
defensively all over the court.
