fellas
Jabbar is training Bynum but Jackson is limiting his playing time, this is done so the youngman can be controlled in the future.
Bynum is being place high enough for the Lakers not to trade him for a 20/10 guy (JO) and enough for Kobe to get jealous of. His playing time is based on a few reason...
1. Jackson 's control in the future. Phil has publically mentioned he does not like Bynum's attitude in working hard but Jabbar defensed Bynum, Bynum still has to know who the boss iswhen it comes to playing time
2.This is Kobe's team, with Bynum in the middle he will demand more touches and space in the paint thus take away Kobe's operating room.
3. Laker's just exercised Bynum's 4th years extention, if he is 35 min. guy last year, Lakers will have differcult time resign him with a mid-range salary
I think Lakers' strategy is keep Bynum a potential while Kobe is still the man, so they can re-sign him for the second term of 4 under-value years
Bynum will eventually get his 35-37 minutes per game I think his stat will go up to 20/12/2.5 now he is about 23 min 10/10/1.5 as time increase his efficiency will drop, but he will still be effective, especially late in the game, like Yao Ming, A Train has decent free throw ability that will keep him in the close game late ,
