When the Atlanta Hawks drafted German point guard Dennis Schroeder with the 17th pick in the NBA draft, many wondered what the future would hold for incumbent point guard Jeff Teague.

According to C.F. Garnder of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, that question could soon be answered, as Teague has reportedly signed an offer sheet with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Hawks will have three days to match the four-year, $32 million-plus offer to keep Teague in town.

Teague doesn’t seem too disappointed about the situation, either.

The 25-year-old point guard has been a crucial component to Atlanta’s success the last two years. The 19th overall pick in the 2009 draft, the Wake Forest product averaged 14.6 points and 7.2 assists last season. If Atlanta opts to let Teague walk, it will lose its most consistent backcourt scorer on the roster.

For Milwaukee, Teague would help fill the void left by Monta Ellis’ departure, while the Hawks have been rumored to be interested in Ellis, per Marc Stein of ESPN.

That is all, of course, contingent upon the Hawks' coming decision on Teague.

One interesting scenario some thought might play out was a deal between the Bucks and Hawks involving Teague and fellow restricted free agent Brandon Jennings, perStein. But with Teague eyeing the Bucks’ offer sheet, that scenario would be entirely off the table.

Atlanta could still sign Jennings outright should they choose to make an offer, but there have been no substantial rumors involving that possibility to this point.
