幾個關於今年 NCAA Final Four 控球的問題

現在 Final 的對戰己經確定了, 但是我以下提供討論的幾個問題和說明卻是在四強戰前己經寫下來的, 因為是回顧三月瘋以來的比賽, 而且就內容上只涉及今年的備選控球, 我個人倒覺得不妨另外開欄

1. Trey Burke 是否不只為目前大學最佳控球? 而且還是College Basketball 中最好的球員?

在今年 NCAA 球季, 基本上並沒有真正具統治力的球員, 因此我會把 Trey Burke 視為年度最佳, 不過, 他防守上當然不及 Victor Oladipo (Indiana), Burke 在進攻上不管得分或傳球都相當有創意和效率, 而且比起其他 All-Americans, 他的表現是持續性的, 在 March Madness 他還打出了更高的一個檔次, 也讓 Michigans 在隔上 20 年後能再度打進決賽

我在這裡先試著把 Burke 和 Chris Paul 二個作比較, 因為以球路而言, 尤其是二個人的心理素質在我看是相當接近的, 取樣是以 Paul 第二年 (也是在最後一年) 在 Wake Forest, 他當年入選 "First-Team All-American"

Paul: 15,3 PpG, 6,6 ApG, 4,5 RpG, 2,4 SpG, 83,4% FT, 47,4% 3FG, 45,1% FG
Burke: 18,8 PpG, 6,8 ApG, 3,1 RpG, 1,6 SpG, 80,8% FT, 38,1% 3FG, 46,4% FG

但是我們看到! CP3 可不只是防守與籃板優於 Burke, 而且可能是近十年最好的 "Floor General", Burke 進 NBA 要達到 Paul 的層級不是不可能, 但真的希望極微, 但這次的 March Madness, 他己證明他會在 NBA 作一個長期先發球員, 要知道許多在大學打出名堂的控球甚至沒法在 nba 生存

也就是說, Burke 現在對我看到的而言, 是年度最佳球員, 他在比起菜鳥年, 尤其是作為 Leader 和 Crunchtime-Killer 這二方面有驚人的進步, 但是他會不會是第二個 Paul? 我認為絕對不會! 但是他是否會成為下一個如 Kemba Walker, Mike Conley 或是 Jeff Teague 這樣的球員? 以我看他的得分能力, 速度, Basketball-IQ, 尤其是奮戰精神, 我認為絕沒問題

當年的 Michigan Fab Five 成員是 Webber (#1), Howard (#3), Rose (#6), King (#9) 以及 Jackson (#84).

但這次的 Kentucky Fab Five 可是: Randle (#2), Aaron 和 Andrew Harrison (#4, #5), James Young (#10), Johnson (#13)

搞不好接下來還有 Wiggins 會來.....

傳奇教練John Wooden的領導哲學

其實要成為稱職的教練、老師以及父母的條件都一樣，需要反求諸己，樹立良好的榜樣，再找到適當的教導方式，所以當過三種角色的Wooden，便在『Wooden On Leadership』和『Wooden』兩本書內分享自身經驗，因為書中有許多值得學習的觀念和名言佳句，所以整理之後分成上下兩篇文章來介紹，

賽前隔著太平洋的那一端，傳來好消息，松山高中畢業、赴美就讀檀香山夏明納大學的胡瓏貿，

面對名校德州大學攻下16分，松山高中教練黃萬隆以他的亮眼表現來勉勵球員，果然子弟兵們很爭氣，

以92：83擊退新榮高中，取得預賽首勝。

今年赴美打球的胡瓏貿從板凳出發，在全美ESPN頻道直播的Maui邀請賽首役繳出16分、4籃板成績，

心繫愛徒表現的黃萬隆，以胡瓏貿「勇於接受挑戰」的個性，賽前向球員訓話。成功拿下首勝後，

黃萬隆肯定學生表現，他認為，全隊打出了HBL的精神，也認同是「瓏貿精神」發揮了作用。

去年意外跌出八強之外，「綠色神盾」松山高中重新出發，黃萬隆表示，他不再想過去，現在就是專心在今年比賽上，

帶兵的這些年，他也有所成長，今年他試著不給學生太大壓力。

此役表現搶眼的前鋒劉博仁，攻下15分、9籃板，3個月前因練球傷到手腕動刀，一度擔心無法如期歸隊，所幸復元狀況良好。

Sources: ASU to hire ex-NBA coaches

Arizona State coach Herb Sendek made a bold move to save a struggling program by hiring two professional coaches as assistants, including former NBA head coach Eric Musselman, multiple sources told ESPN.com Sunday night.

Sendek will also hire Larry Greer, who was an assistant for the Trail Blazers last season and worked as a scout for Houston. Greer was a former college assistant at Wright State and Boston University.

Arizona State will announce the hires Tuesday, a source told ESPN.com. Details of the two contracts were still being finalized Sunday.

Musselman was the coach of the Lakers' D-League team, the D-Fenders, last season, leading the team to a 38-12 record. Musselman, who was also the head coach of the Venezuelan national team in 2012, was a former head coach of the Golden State Warriors(2002-04) and Sacramento Kings (2006-07).

Musselman also had stints as an assistant coach with Minnesota, Orlando and Atlanta as well as Memphis.

Associate head coach Dedrique Taylor is still on staff.

Getting Musselman could end up being a coup for Sendek, who needs to inject new energy into the program. The Sun Devils lost two assistant coaches -- Scott Pera (Penn) and Lamont Smith (Washington) -- recently. ASU finished 6-12 last season, 10-21 overall. But the Sun Devils add Jahii Carson, who was a highly-touted recruit, after he sat out last season for academics.

The Sun Devils return four productive players from last season, led by senior forward Carrick Felix (10.5 ppg, 4 rpg) and senior guard Chris Colvin (7 ppg, 4 rpg).

Sendek is in his seventh season at Arizona State. ASU reached the NCAA tournament once in Sendek's tenure, his third season in 2009. The Sun Devils have missed the postseason the past two seasons.

There will be more than one basketball team in Los Angeles this year with a Gasol brother on its roster.

Adria Gasol, the 18-year-old brother of NBA big men Pau and Marc Gasol, has enrolled as a student at UCLA and intends to walk-on to the team next season. A UCLA spokesman said the youngest Gasol brother will not join the Bruins on their exhibition tour of China when they leave Wednesday, but he will begin practicing with the team this fall.

Although the youngest Gasol is 6-foot-10 and has impressive bloodlines, it would be a surprise if he is able to make much impact at UCLA in the near future.

He wasn't interested in following in his brothers' footsteps in basketball growing up and played sparingly as a freshman and sophomore at Lausanne High School in Memphis before returning to Spain the past two years. He worked out with the Spanish U-18 team last summer but did not show enough to make the roster, suggesting, he's well behind his brothers at the same stage.

At age 18, Pau was a phenom who joined Barcelona's senior team after excelling for the junior team the previous two seasons. Marc was overweight while attending high school in Memphis and did not blossom into NBA prospect until he returned to Barcelona.

"(Adria) looks like a typical late-developing kid — long, skinny, fast but lost on the court," said Rafal Juc, a Poland-based scout for EuroHopes.com.

"Adria was on radar of a couple of Spanish agents and scouts, but they don't see him in the future on as high a level as his brothers play. His basketball IQ is limited, he shows some serious lack of basketball fundamentals and struggles due to many injuries. But in my opinion it's smart move by UCLA (to add him). It doesn't cost anything to get the kid a place (on the) basketball team when he pays for his academics, especially when his last name is Gasol."

Even if Adria never becomes the caliber of player that his brothers are, his famous last name alone should make him a favorite among UCLA fans and a source of intrigue in the final minutes of blowouts.

If he focuses on basketball and develops into a surprise contributor at some point in the next few years, then that's a coup for UCLA. And if he does nothing more than persuade Pau or Marc to occasionally work out against the UCLA frontcourt during the offseason, then that's still a greater contribution than the average walk-on makes.

胡瓏貿加入美國Chaminade大學校隊

剛剛在Chaminade University的官網看到這個消息, 該校的教練對胡瓏貿的評價很高.

他們認為6呎5吋的胡瓏貿是能裡能外的全能型球員, 胡也將在下個球季2012-2013開始他的NCAA D2之旅.

Chaminade大學和張宗憲所屬的BYU-Hawaii大學都是在D2的Pacific West區域, 這兩所學校算是老對手.

很可惜今年看不到胡瓏貿對上張宗憲的比賽, 而明年張宗憲也已經畢業了.

Chaminade大學去年表現相當不錯, 球風是強硬激烈碰撞類型.

今年也會是BYU-Hawaii在同屬聯盟中的主要對手之一, 大家祝福小胡吧!

我相信胡的能力可以在D2有很多的表現空間, 希望他是繼張宗憲之後下一個在NCAA D2發光發熱的台灣球員.

Hu, a versatile 6’5 forward, had a very successful high school career in Taiwan. He competed in the prestigious Nike Global Challenge in 2010 as well as the 2011 U19 FIBA Basketball Championships. Long-Mao Hu, who goes by Kevin, has a variety of skills that allow him to play multiple positions.

Coach Bovaird is excited with the signing. “I am really thrilled to have Kevin sign the NLI to attend Chaminade next year and to have him as our first official signee of the 2012-13 class. He is a very explosive player that can handle the ball, shoot from the outside, and has great footwork inside. He is very versatile, just the type of player we need to play the style of basketball we want to play in the future. Kevin had a great coach in high school, Roman Huang, that has helped develop Kevin into a great all-around player. I am looking forward to coaching Kevin and I am sure he will be a true asset to Chaminade University and our men’s basketball program.”

Hu will be joining a program who plays some of the best teams in the country, as the Swords will prove again next week. Chaminade is set to face UCLA in the opening round of the 2011 EA Sports Maui Invitational. The Swords will face the Bruins at 4:30 PM HT on November 21^st at the Lahaina Civic Center. The game will be televised live on ESPNU

僅由 Final Four 的 Most Outstanding Player 決賽拿出的 defensive impact (16 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 3 Steals 以及六次阻攻 ), 我們很快就會忘記他今天進攻的投十中一

兩位強力前鋒, 相信 Thomas Robinson 會在 Sullinger 之前被選走, 他老兄想進前五恐怕得再留一年

Larry Brown has agreed to become the head coach at SMU, sources told ESPN.com. An official announcement could come as early as Tuesday.

Brown, however, denied later Tuesday that he had accepted the job.

"At this point I have not been offered the job so I cannot have accepted it," Brown told ESPN.com senior writer Andy Katz on Tuesday night. "I don't do anything without [agent and longtime mentor] Joe Glass' blessing. And as of Tuesday night he hasn't talked to [SMU athletic director] Steve Orsini."

The only holdup involves Brown's assistants. Sources said Brown has offered Illinois State coach Tim Jankovich a "coach-in-waiting position."

A source close to Brown told Katz that Jankovich is waiting to get a written contract that guarantees he would be the next head coach after the 71-year-old Brown's departure. Brown did say he has no timetable, is healthy and would coach as long as possible. That's why Jankovich would need assurances that he would be the next head coach even if that was three or four years away since he has a good job and a potential Missouri Valley title team returning.

Jankovich did not answer calls to his cell phone Tuesday afternoon. Kansas coach Bill Self, who worked with Jankovich at Tulsa, Illinois and Kansas, said he hadn't talked to Jankovich in "two or three days."

"One thing I do know," Self said, "is that he loves Larry."

Jankovich has been around Brown a lot over the years because of his relationship with Self, who considers Brown a mentor.

Former Illinois assistant Jerrance Howard also is expected to join Brown's staff along with former Kentucky assistant Rod Strickland. Howard is regarded as one of the country's top recruiters. Strickland has spent the past two years on John Calipari's staff in an administrative role. Strickland was a first-round pick out of DePaul in 1998 and played in the NBA until 2005.

Brown is the only coach in history to win an NCAA title and an NBA championship. He has not coached since 2010, when he resigned from the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats.

Duke's Rivers enters NBA draft early, hires agent

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Austin Rivers is leaving Duke after one season for the NBA draft.

The freshman guard announced his decision and plans to hire an agent on Monday after team officials said he spent the weekend discussing his future plans with his family at their home outside Orlando, Fla.

"Duke has prepared me for the challenges that are ahead both on and off the court," Rivers said in a statement issued by the school. "I have learned so much from the coaching staff and my teammates that will help me succeed at the next level."

The son of Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers averaged a team-leading 15.5 points and was a unanimous selection as the Atlantic Coast Conference's rookie of the year. He's just the third Duke freshman to lead the team in scoring after Johnny Dawkins in 1983 and Bill Sapp in 1945.

"Austin had a terrific year as a freshman and has put himself in a position to pursue his dream of being a great player in the NBA," coach Mike Krzyzewski said, adding that he supports the decision. "We look forward to watching him continue to develop and excel at the next level."

The top highlight of Rivers' only college season was a buzzer-beating 3-pointer last month that gave Duke an 85-84 victory at North Carolina. He scored a season-high 29 points in that game.

He's the fourth player to leave Duke after one season and the second one-and-done guard in two years after Cleveland made Kyrie Irving the No. 1 overall pick of last year's draft. The others are Corey Maggette in 1999 and Luol Deng in 2004.

Doc Rivers, speaking to reporters in Charlotte before the Celtics' game against the Bobcats on Monday night - before his son's decision was made public - said he thought his choice would be a good one no matter what he decided to do.

"Listen, going to the NBA if you're going to get drafted in the first round, that's good," Doc Rivers said. "Going back to Duke, that's good. So I don't know if you have a bad choice."
