Sources: Robin Lopez agrees to four-year, $54 million deal with Knicks

Free-agent center Robin Lopez has agreed in principle to a four-year, $54 million contract with the New York Knicks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
The deal was solidified once the representatives for Los Angeles Clippers free-agent center DeAndre Jordan notified the Knicks that Jordan had eliminated New York from consideration, sources said. Jordan is choosing between the Clippers and Dallas Mavericks.
With Knicks president Phil Jackson seemingly unable to recruit top-tier big men LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Monroe or Jordan to New York, Lopez was the frontcourt player willing to join Carmelo Anthony in the lineup.
Lopez, 27, will leave the Portland Trail Blazers, where he spent a productive past two seasons. Lopez is a limited offensive player who is a difference-maker on the defensive end of the floor.
Lopez averaged 9.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks for the Blazers a season ago. He’s the twin brother of Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez.
In seven NBA seasons, with Phoenix, New Orleans and Portland, Lopez has averaged 8.2 points and five rebounds.
The Knicks have earned free-agent commitments from two ex-Blazers: Lopez and guard Arron Afflalo. New York is planning to speak with free-agent forwards Corey Brewer and Derrick Williamson Friday, league sources said.
